My New Project

This is going to be my new project for the new few months

I think this is adorable!
It doesn't look too hard to make, just cut out a giraffe shape in felt and add the black spots and details

I think I'm gonna cut out a bunch of animal shapes and make a bunch of felt pictures for the baby's room.

Maybe some of these shapes?

I think the frames would be easy to find and make, just get a few old frames and sand them a little or scratch them up.

Anyone want to make them with me?

My Eggo is Preggo

Surprise…. I'm pregnant!!!! Just kidding, I'm pretty sure everybody already knew that.

Today I am a little over 15 weeks along, which would make my due date April 19th! I am praying that the little bugger decides to come a few days late, otherwise I might have him/her during finals…not fun.

The symptoms I've had so far:
Nausea (like all day, every day)
Vomiting
Exhaustion (for the first few months, I slept like 18 hours a day)
Runny nose
Sneezing (It's called Pregnancy Rhinitis, apparently)
Cramping
Having to pee every 10 seconds
Cravings (In-N-Out fries animal style and red meat pretty much every day)
Gas (sorry its TMI, but its true. This is Chance's favorite symptom haha)
Bloating
Sore back
Sore boobs
Break outs all over my face, back, and chest
My hair growing way faster
Mood swings (I cry about everything- we having been watching the old seasons of Grey's Anatomy, and I cry every. single. episode.)
Forgetfulness (Just ask Chance, I forget everything)
Pretty much every other symptom you can think of, I've had it.

The first trimester was super hard. I had no idea pregnancy was gonna be like this. Luckily I can already start to feel my body changing and I have more energy. I'm still not showing really at all, which is pretty lame. I'm just hoping that it means I won't pop out too much later on, which means less stretch marks. I hope.

Everything looked good at our first ultrasound at 9 weeks. It looks like there is only one baby in there (there better be only one).
Here is our little blob

Me getting the ultrasound! I'm putting my hands like that because the sheet was see-through

Me at 8 weeks

Me at 15 weeks
Yeah, there isn't much difference

We will find out the sex at the beginning of December (21 weeks) Secretly I am hoping its a boy, but a girl would be great too.

Funny story- The other night, Chance and I were going to go shopping, and I was starving. Being starving at the grocery store while pregnant= serious nausea, so I decided to open a can of pears before we left. I wasn't paying attention (since I forget everything nowadays), and I sliced my finger open on the top of the can. After some phone calls to Bill and my mom, we decided to head to the ER. After three hours there, we finally went home. I got three stitches and a numbed finger. It was not a fun experience.

Here's me with my bandaged finger
You may have noticed that I am wearing the same outfit that I am in the ultrasound picture. That's cause it happened on the same day. Two hospital visits in one day!

Anyway, we are super excited for this baby and can't wait till April!!

New York

Chance surprised me for our anniversary with a trip to New York

It was amazing

Chance in front of an NYPD car

We ate hot dogs from a street vendor

Looking across the pier

If you look closely, you can see the Statue of Liberty in the back

This creepy guy was running around downtown

Chance's favorite part of the trip, Wall Street

Statue on Wall Street

Chance got a little crazy about this picture. There were people climbing all over the Bull, and it was almost impossible to get a picture without anyone in it.

The Frick Museum

New York was so fun!

Central Park

Central Park

My aunt and uncle bought us tickets to Wicked. It was so great! Thanks Matt and Natalie! My feet were killing me, so we got a ride back to our hotel from one of those crazy bike riders. It was so scary. I thought we were going to die

The guy who was pulling us got so close to the taxis, and cut off people. These pictures don't convey how scared I was.

M&M Factory

The World's largest Reese's

The Empire State Building

One of my favorite parts of the trip, Serendipity III. The frozen hot chocolate was SO GOOD! The food wasn't too bad either

Waiting for our table (1 1/2 hour wait)

The coolest candy store ever!

Bathtub of gum balls

New York was so amazing! Thanks babe for the trip. I can't wait to go again and try everything we didn't get a chance to this time.

P.S. I am about 2 weeks pregnant here, which might explain why I look and felt so tired this entire trip.

The Past Four Months

I am so far behind. Four months to be exact. In my defense, we forgot our cord that attaches our camera to our computer, so I couldn't upload any pictures.

Our summer begins:
So after school ended in April, we packed up our car and drove to North Carolina. We stopped in Tennessee one night, and it was in the middle of a crazy storm. The side of the roads were completely flooded, and all the roads were closed. Luckily we missed the worst of the storm, but we still got it pretty bad. We watched the news as entire semis were completely covered in water, and the roads were all stopped. It was scary, but we got to North Carolina in one piece.

We got to our apartment on a Sunday afternoon, and the furniture company was closed, so we had to sleep the first two nights on the ground.

Spike sniffing out our makeshift bed

North Carolina was the ghetto. It was hard because Chance was out knocking in the bad parts of town, so I was always worried about him, and I couldn't really leave the apartment because it wasn't safe. I spent a lot of time at the pool and the gym, and another one of the wives and I went to the mall quite a bit (but I didn't buy anything at all- Chance was proud).

My favorite NC activity was the drive- through zoo.

It was a whole lot of this
It was slightly scary.

Chance was not super excited about feeding the animals. He felt very concerned about the germs on the animals, so for the first part, he wouldn't even roll down the window.

Probably one of the only times he fed the animals.

Funny story- Chance had rolled his window down, but forgot about it while taking this picture
as he was taking the picture, the hugest, smelliest animal with flies swarming all over it stuck its head into the car and licked the back of Chance's head and neck. I couldn't stop laughing, but he was scarred for the rest of the drive. I'm pretty sure he rubbed hand sanitizer all over his head.

One of the animals that licked him
These guys were all over the place

I had no idea that Ostriches sat like this! Weird

Feeding the giraffes

I have no idea what this is

Worst part of the trip- I was feeding this guy (apparently you aren't supposed to)
and he stole my feed bucket! I tried to get it back, and I got hit in the head with one of his huge horns. Hence this picture
Big jerk. But look at those horns! They're huge

Other worst part of the trip- these guys were in front of us and they were soo rude! They continually drove off the path, scaring the animals away so no one else could see them and ruining the park. They would speed up and go around us so they could see the animals first, and then stop so we were all stuck behind them. They would also get out of the car to take pictures, which is breaking the biggest rule of the park. I'm surprised they didn't get mauled. They made us so mad, and almost ruined the trip for everyone else.
Best part of the trip- baby ostriches! They were adorable! It's a little hard to see, sorry!

It was a great trip- thanks babe!
More summer updates soon!

Easter Weekend!

Happy Easter Everyone!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend, especially with General Conference! We woke up on Saturday morning, and Chance made chocolate chip muffins. We watched conference, which was really great this year. Did anyone else think that a bunch of the talks were about parenting and raising our children in the Gospel? That's what it seemed like to me.

Saturday night we popped popcorn and watched Lars and the Real Girl. Has anyone seen this movie? I really like it, even though it's kind of weird.

Sunday morning Chance made muffins again, and this is what I woke up to:

The candy was my Easter present from Chance

These were an Easter present from my mom, she thought they were perfect for our first Easter together, and I agree!

This was my present for Chance, we both had a $15 limit, and we both went crazy with the candy.

The last muffin of the batch that Chance made, they were gone too fast for me to take a picture!

This is Spike's Easter present, which he loved

Chance feeding Spike some peanut butter

He loved it

He was licking his face forever, it was everywhere

We went up to Salt Lake to spend the day with my aunt and uncle and their family, it was a great day.

One of the many things I love about Chance is how he makes the holidays special for me. I know he's not really into spending money on the smaller holidays, but he does it for me because he knows how much I love celebrating even the small ones. He got me candy and presents even though it has nothing to do with the Easter holiday. He's great :)

Also, recently we have seen a few movies. First, we saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D, which I had to watch for one of my classes. I was pleasantly surprised, because I thought it would be way darker than it was. It was still really weird, but its a Tim Burton movie, so I guess it has to be different.

Us in the movie!

We also saw How To Train Your Dragon, which was amazing. It was so cute, and so funny. If you haven't seen, go, because we were laughing the whole time. It's definitely a feel-good movie.

That's what we have been up to, can't wait to see all you guys soon! xoxo
